My name is DaMarcus Morton; I’m a certified Coach and graduate of The University of Akron where I studied Criminal Justice/Sociology.  

I grew up in low income housing in Akron, Ohio. I have a lot of great memories but there were traumatic experiences that diminished my self-perception. 

The resulting cycle of negative thoughts, feelings and coping behaviors seemed impossible to escape. I wasn't happy with my life even though I had happy moments in my life.

That all changed in Seattle, when I began working with a team of coaches and counselors who ignited my growth mindset. 

Investing in my self-awareness, self-confidence and self-esteem changed my life and my career path.

I started working in Mental Health & Addiction which eventually lead me to Coaching.

Today, I'm requested to coach people  beyond their self-limiting beliefs to better success and personal well-being. I even consulted on a NIDA funded project with the prestigious think tank, Rand Corporation.

I am humbled my work has impacted the lives of so many.

Self-limiting beliefs (likely adopted from negative childhood experiences/trauma) influence how you think. When you think negatively you feel bad and are more likely to form unhealthy habits to cope. 

Negative coping behaviors confirm your self-limiting beliefs keeping you in the same negative cycles slowly diminishing your self-confidence and self-esteem.

When your confidence and self-esteem is low, being positive is difficult, you struggle with your goals, even connecting can be a challenge.

  • Awareness

    Self-awareness is your ability to observe and accurately identify your thoughts, feelings and impulses, and determine whether they are grounded in reality or not. When you’re self aware, you’re more intentional and better able to self-correct. The first four lessons will teach you how to identify your current patterns.

  • Confidence

    Self-confidence is a feeling of trust in your ability to accomplish your goals. When you're confident, fear doesn't hold you back. The next four lessons will teach you how to overcome fear of failure, rooted in one of the most common self-limiting beliefs "I'm not good enough."

  • Esteem

    Self-esteem is a perception of your value and worth. When you identify as valuable and worthy, you respect yourself and feel secure. The last four lessons will teach you how to overcome fear of rejection, rooted in the other most common self-limiting belief, "I won't be loved."
